Colleen Rebecca Britt is a NYC-based freelance director and teaching artist. Recent directing credits include: Legally Blonde Jr., a new pilot production with MTI, the creators and The Hewitt School. Top Girls by Caryl Churchill and a sight specific workshop production, Showing by Gabriel Sinclair at The Setauket Neighborhood House. The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe, Tree Pose by Janice Maffei and The Resolute, at The Wyoming Theater Festival; Other Planet Hearts, an adaptation of The Little Prince, at Dixon Place in New York City; and Svetlyachki, at the New York Fringe. Colleen is the resident director for Hidden Well Theatre company.
Colleen also has directed for Infinite Variety Productions, a New York theatre company that focuses on untold stories of women in history. Documentary plays with IVP have included A Piece of My Heart and Insignificant, a new play about early women astronomers at Harvard. As a teaching artist, Colleen leads the drama program at the Hewitt School and also has taught at NYFA, BMCC and at City College. She is available for private acting coaching.
